Antique Gold Filled Expansion Bracelet with Glass/Crystal Gemstones

Known as sweetheart bracelets, expansion bracelets originated during the Victorian era and became extra popular during the first and second world wars when departing soldiers would give these bracelets to their sweethearts as a token of their love. This one is gold-filled and features a really unique open-work design with 20 rhinestones, which are either cut crystal or 'paste' which was a type of glass made to mimic crystals popularized during Georgian and Victorian times. Marked '*12' for 12k Gold filled, 'Made in USA' (by the company:) 'The D.F.B & Co' (style name) 'Carmen' (all engraved inside the band) and a patent number. 

Detailed Description:

• Material: 12k Gold-fillled all the way around (outside and inside - not plated), 'paste' crystal/glass 
• Design: Antique expansion bracelet with an open work plate featuring 20 flush set rhinestones.  
• Gemstones:  Cut glass/crystal gems - also known as 'Paste'
• Dimensions: 6.5" when not expanded, but can stretch to over 8.5" to fit over wrist, center (not stretchy part) is 6cm long and just under 2cm at widest part, expansion band is 10 mm thick. 
  
• Craftsmanship: Marked with company, style and 'Made in USA'. Wonderful condition given its age, all links are secure and structurally in tact. Rhinestones range in color slightly, but all are gray/clear and securely set. Made circa 1880-1920.
