Real, Predynastic, Egyptian stone tools for sale! 

These beautiful, authentic, stone tools date back roughly 200,000 years ago and were collected in the Nile Valley, in the vicinity of Thebes, Egypt.

Incredibly, these tools were collected by Charles Trick Currelly, who went on to help found the Royal Ontario Museum of Archaeology in Toronto, Canada. It later was shortened to the Royal Ontario Museum.

These were potentially collected prior to 1907, when he left his first expedition in Egypt and focused on his work to setup the ROM. During this expedition he discovered the cenotaph and tomb of Pharaoh Ahmose I.

In 1907, Currelly was made curator of the Royal Ontario Museum of Archaeology, and in 1914 became the director. 

Part of his collection of these stone tools was gifted to other facilities, and you can find other pieces of this collection on display at the MET in New York City.

The pieces we are selling were gifted to the Hobberlin Museum in North York, Ontario. After their closure, they became part of the Prehistoria Museum in Toronto, Ontario. 

We are, very grudgingly, deaccessioning a few of these specimens to raise funds for our operations and renovations.
