This is an incredible, rare, fossil bat (Palaeochiropteryx tupaiodon) skeleton from the Messel Pit in Germany!
This is one of the oldest bats ever found, with their remains dating back roughly 48 million years before present.
Despite being a very early bat, they had already developed the ability to hunt by echolocation. They preyed mostly on moths and caddisflies, and were likely nocturnal.
This museum-quality fossil plate measures ~3.5"x4" AND CAN BE SHIPPED WORLDWIDE.
**This specimen was on display at the Prehistoria Museum but has been deaccessioned to urgently raise funds for our operations.**
