Linn Majik 5100 Five-Channel Power Amplifier

Five channels of amplification, single chassis. The Majik 5100 is built for Linn Exakt active systems where five independent amplifier channels are needed — typically a stereo pair of two-way active speakers combined with a single driven subwoofer channel, or a three-way active speaker system on one side of a room with two channels dedicated to the second speaker.

Like the rest of the Majik amplifier range, the 5100 receives its signal from a Linn DSM over the LINN link digital connection. All crossover filtering, delay correction, and speaker-specific EQ is handled by the DSM upstream; the 5100 contributes nothing to the signal path beyond clean, reliable amplification.

A Five-Channel System Without Five Separate Boxes

For most home cinema or complex stereo active configurations, the appeal of the 5100 is obvious: five channels, one mains lead, one place in the rack. The alternative — five separate amplifiers — would require five power supplies, five sets of connections, and considerably more rack space. In a well-planned Linn system, the 5100 simplifies the installation without any compromise to performance.

Each channel is independently driven, with its own output stage. The power supply is sized for the demands of five simultaneously active channels. There is no passive crossover in the signal path — Linn's DSM handles all frequency division digitally, before the amplification stage.

The 5100 can be combined with other Majik amplifiers where the channel count demands it. A Majik 3100 adds a single channel to reach six; a Majik 2100 adds two. Linn's LINN link architecture supports multiple amplifiers driven from a single DSM.
